Sports related injuries come from impact and non impact accidents. Whether they evovle over time from over use or incorrect movements or from a bad twist turn or hit, the recover can be drastically different.
At Elite Health and Healing we know that the first thing our athletes think about is how fast can I return to training. Our goal is to give you the path to help the injury recover while slowly integrating your body back into your favorite training or sport. This can include sports massages, KT taping, Cupping, Scraping, and re-education of dysfunctinal muscle patterns.
A typical session starts on the table releasing any muscles that may be causing the dysfunction, and then banded or weighted movements depending on the level of injury. Each individual athlete and injury is treating accordingly.
Surgery can be scary enough but the following months are just as important to ensure you get the body you desire. Whether you had a Lipo Suction, BBL, or other surgical treatment, Lymphatic Drainage Massages and cavitation are the keys to success.
We can help guide you through your path to recovery including what post op compression garments and tools you will need. This includes pre and post op nutrition, lymphatic massages, cavitation and radiofrequency skin tightnening.
Ultrasonic Cavitation is a type of massage with a piece of equipment that causes fat deposits to burst and leave the body. Although it does not need to be paired with surgery and can be used for anyone within 10-15 lbs of thier desired weight, its a great post op tool to ensure any left over fat deposits are removed ensuring a smooth conture. This painless procedure takes about 20-30 minutes per body area, and breaks down the fat. The best cavitation results are done in combination with a calorie deficit, increased intake of water, and 30-60 minutes of cardio allowing the body to flush the fat cells out during training.
Radiofrequency skin tightening is great for post op and those who have excess sagging skin. This can be done on various parts of the body or on the face and neck. Radiofrequency treatments last about 15-30 minutes, are completely painless and require no downtime.
Lymphatic drainage massage, also known as manual lymphatic drainage, relieves swelling that happens when medical treatment or illness blocks your lymphatic system. Lymphatic drainage massage involves gently manipulating specific areas of your body to help lymph move to an area with working lymph vessels.
A swedish massage is one of the most common types of massages you can get. It is performed to energize the body and improve overall health. This type of massage involves actions like percussion, kneading, vibration, tapping and rolling. Massage oil or lotion is used to protect the skin from friction.
Although most studios will give you a deep swedish massage when you ask for a deep tissue, a true traditional deep tissue massage is very different. Using very little oil or lubricant and moving much slower and deeper in to muscles to release tension and knots. The deep tissue massage will likely be mixed with trigger point therapy and other deeper modalities to reduce pain and tension.
Cupping is a therapeutic process using silicone or plastic cups to create suction on the skin, creating negative pressure that draws the skin into the cup. Cupping increases blood circulation on target areas where the cups are placed, relieving muscle tension and promoting cell repair.
